Manuel Neuer has caused a storm on social media after beating Erling Haaland in the air outside of the penalty area in Bayern Munich's 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund last night.

Neuer showed his remarkable sweeper-keeper skills to come out of the box and leap over the physically imposing Haaland to keep the danger away from the Bayern goal.

Unfortunately for Haaland, he was unable to make an impact on the Bayern goal as he had a goal disallowed for offside halfway through the second half which meant his record of never defeating the German champions has continued.

The Bundesliga holders were too strong for Dortmund as Robert Lewandowski's relentless form continued with a brace whilst Thomas Muller got the other goal.

Dortmund did put up a fight as Marco Reus scored the goal of the evening with a stunning strike past Neuer that brought the game back to 2-1.

This was Bayern's sixth straight victory against Dortmund which meant that Julian Nagelsmann was able to win his first silverware as head coach.

Despite not having a great start to the season, Nagelsmann was much more impressed with the performance of the team last night: "We were incredibly aggressive, won the ball well and had three huge chances. The lead was deserved.

"In the second half, it was clear that BVB put more pressure on us. We played a bit too much into the block instead of over the top.

"But all in all, it was a fully deserved victory for us. It's important to me that the trophy is seen as a reward for last season. That's why it's also a trophy that Hansi Flick and the team deserve."
