Romelu Lukaku Doesn't Even Flinch After 'Street Fighter Style' Tackle From Ryan Bertrand

Romelu Lukaku Doesn't Even Flinch After 'Street Fighter Style' Tackle From Ryan Bertrand

It was a game of goal of the season contenders at Old Trafford this afternoon, as Manchester United and Southampton played out a memorable Premier League affair.

Yan Valery gave the visitors the lead with his first senior goal, smashing it in from 25 yards, but Andreas Pereira cancelled that out with a stunner of his own, curling it past a helpless Angus Gunn to make it 1-1.

Romelu Lukaku soon made it 2-1, but a cracking free-kick from James Ward Prowse leveled the scores once more.

It was a miracle that Lukaku was still on the pitch after a dangerous flying tackle from Southampton's Ryan Bertrand almost took him out.

Lukaku, who went on to score the third, somehow avoided serious injury, leaving his opponent in a heap on the floor.

Bertrand bounced off the Belgian striker, who continued running before the referee blew his whistle for a free-kick.

The Southampton defender, who received a yellow card for the challenge, was lucky to avoid a red card as it could have much, much worse.

How did Lukaku stay standing after this? Some players would have rolled around for hours.

Many fans on social media questioned how Bertrand was still on the pitch, while commenting on Lukaku's remarkable strength to bounce off the 29-year-old full-back.

Here's just some of the reactions:

Manchester United's narrow win at Old Trafford means they have collected 32 points under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since he took over from Jose Mourinho at the end of last year.

Surely they will secure top four now?
