Romelu Lukaku has responded to fat jibes by posting a topless mirror selfie.

Earlier today it was reported that the Belgium striker had arrived at Inter Milan overweight, with Corriere Dello Sport saying that the former Chelsea and Everton striker currently weighs 104kg - 4kg more than what Inter want him to be - and he has been placed on a strict diet in addition to taking part in extra training.

The outlet claimed Lukaku could miss the first game of the season against Lecce because he wasn't in suitable condition but the 26-year old made a mockery of those reports by uploading a shirtless photo of him to Snapchat, captioning it: "Not bad for being called fat".

Lukaku has quite a knack for responding to criticism, having posted United's fitness stats online after talk that he wasn't pulling his weight.

But while he's clearly not fat by any stretch of the imagination, the issue is more that he's currently too heavy and has unnecessary muscle that is restricting his game.

United legend Gary Neville recently slammed the Anderlecht youth product for admitting to being overweight, with his former teammate Gary Pallister echoing those thoughts.

"I think Lukaku is a goalscorer and he will score plenty of goals, but the way they want to play at times, he's too heavy," Pallister said in a recent interview, as per Goal.

"You look at the pace in the present game; maybe Ole is looking at that and saying he can't implement that into his game for me. He was surplus to requirements.
