Michael Carrick may have garnered a reputation as one of Manchester United's most reliable players during his decade at Old Trafford but tonight the midfielder was culpable for gifting Liverpool their second goal during another miserable night for Louis Van Gaal's men.
The England international's attempt at clearing a cross was dreadful, gifting the ball to Adam Lallana, who squared the ball for Roberto Firmino, who increased the Reds' lead in the Europa League tie.
And United fans were quick to chastise Carrick for his error:
