Real Madrid Fan Exposes The VAR Conspiracy Theory

Real Madrid Fan Exposes The VAR Conspiracy Theory

Last week, Athletic Bilbao's Iker Muniain voiced his concerns about the inconsistency of VAR after the technology failed to award the hosts a penalty against Real Madrid.

The controversy came just minutes after Sergio Ramos scored the winning penalty after Marcelo was deemed to have been fouled inside the box courtesy of an intervention from VAR.

The Spanish defender stepped on Raul Garcia's foot in the area but this time, the technology didn't check the decision and Zinedine Zidane's side went on to win the game 1-0, extending their lead over Barcelona in La Liga.

Many have lamented Los Blancos' luck when it comes to these decisions of late, and it continues to be a huge talking point among fans, with many expressing their anger towards officials.

But one Real Madrid has defended his team with a thread of his own. Twitter user @follow_RM_Play has put together a number of videos showing various missed calls by VAR for Real Madrid during the 2019/20 La Liga season.

Here is that thread of moments, including a 'clear handball from a Real Betis defender' and several more controversial penalty verdicts.
