Lionel Messi Is The Top Scorer And The Top Assister In The Top Five European Leagues

Lionel Messi is the top scorer and the top assister in Europe's major leagues, this season.

The 31-year-old bagged his 26th La Liga goal in Barcelona's 3-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano on Saturday. He's the leagues top scorer and by some way.

He's nine goals ahead of teammate Luis Suarez who has 17 league goals to his name.

That makes Messi the leading scorer in the top five European leagues.

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero is leading the way in England's top flight with 18 goals, Cristiano Ronaldo and Fabio Quagliarella both have 19 Serie A goals, Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski has netted 17 Bundesliga goals with Kylian Mbappe the only player in close proximity of Messi's brilliance in front of goal.

The French phenom has chipped in with an impressive 24 Ligue 1 goals.

Messi is providing plenty of goals, too. 12 to be precise. Again, that makes Messi the top creator in the top five European leagues.

Chelsea's Eden Hazard has created 11 league goals and Bayern Munich's Joshua Kimmich has set-up 10 league goals.

Meanwhile, Barcelona remain seven points clear of second place Atletico Madrid following their 19th league victory of the campaign.
