Manchester United reportedly sent scouts to watch midfielder Adrien Rabiot during France's shock defeat to Switzerland on Monday night.

Rabiot, who is a midfielder by trade, played as a wing-back and left-back during the last-16 clash.

It resulted in Switzerland beating the tournament favourites 5-4 on penalties in a stunning comeback after trailing 3-1 with minutes to spare

Rabiot, who has had a disappointing Euro 2020, did not impress during the Switzerland game with L'Equipe awarding the Frenchman with a five out of ten.

Reports from France suggest that after the game, Rabiot's mother even starred in a shock row with the family members of fellow teammates Kylian Mbappe and Paul Pogba.

Rabiot was previously linked with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's United when he left Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in 2019.

Instead, Rabiot decided to join Juventus yet he has not been able to make himself a first-team regular under Maurizio Sarri or Andrea Pirlo despite showing glimpses of his potential.

Since Max Allegri's appointment to Juventus this summer, there have been rumours regarding Rabiot's position in the squad.

Due to the on-going rumours that Paul Pogba may be looking to leave Manchester United, as well as Manchester United fans' question marks of the quality of Fred and Scott McTominay, Solskjaer is reportedly interested in adding Rabiot to his midfield armoury.

Nevertheless, it is believed that other Premier League clubs such as Manchester City and Everton are interested in the midfielder.

Rabiot's agent has previously told Italian newspaper Tuttosport: "The Frenchman is on Pep Guardiola's Manchester City goal list. But he will not leave Juventus."

However Manchester City's well-documented interest in England's star players Harry Kane and Jack Grealish make the move for Rabiot this summer unlikely.
