Manchester City players have offered their support to teammate Leroy Sane by wearing "Sane 19" shirts ahead of this evening's Premier League tie against Spurs.

The 23-year-old, who sustained a knee injury during the opening stages of The Community Shield, required surgery after suffering the devastating ACL injury.

It has since been confirmed that the pacey winger will be out for several months, but despite the seriousness of the injury, people weren't convinced by City's gesture on Saturday night.

Niko Kovac's side have been keeping tabs on the German winger for some time.

Pep Guardiola's side rejected their initial approach, but reports suggested that the German champions would get their man in a transfer worth £91 million.

But of course, this recent ACL injury has cast further doubt on Sane's immediate future but reports suggest the Bundesliga side may go for him in the next transfer window.
