Chelsea's out of favour winger Christian Pulisic proved his doubters wrong on Saturday afternoon when he scored 'the perfect' Premier League hat-trick in a 4-2 drubbing of Burnley.

The 21-year-old, who has struggled for first-team minutes under Frank Lampard since arriving in the summer, was given his first start for The Blues since August 31st - and he certainly didn't disappoint.

Pulisic netted his first goal in English football with just 20 minutes on the clock, pouncing on a mistake from defender Matt Lowton.

The former Borussia Dortmund man showed great composure before beating goalkeeper Nick Pope at his far post to make it 1-0.

Pulisic continued to impress with his pace and trickery, and he soon made it 2-0 just before the half-time whistle.

The winger pounced on another Burnley error before a well-hit strike ricocheted in off defender Ben Mee.

Willian soon made it 3-0 before the now-confident American completed his hat-trick in the second half, bagging a goal remisicent of Javier Hernandez's famous backwards header against Stoke City in 2010 to put the game to bed.

He has finally arrived.

Frank Lampard's side could have easily scored more in the dominant victory that takes them up to fourth in the Premier League table.

The Chelsea boss will be delighted to see Pulisic in goalscoring mood after praising his efforts earlier this week.

"The way he's played, he deserves a starting place regularly in the last few weeks, but so do others and that's what I keep saying is the nice problem that I have." Lampard said before Saturday's clash.

"But it's brilliant that he's coming on and making the impact that he's making and of course he'll get his starts, that's the reason he's come here."
