Inter Milan midfielder Antonio Candreva scored a goal of the season contender against Leece on Monday night as the Italian giants cruised to a 4-0 win in their Serie A opener.

The 32-year-old let rip from 30 yards out with his right boot and moments later, the experienced winger found the top left corner with an incredibly powerful effort.

His strike dipped and swerved, leaving Leece goalkeeper Gabriel with no chance.

Candreva might have put himself in contention for goal of the season with that strike.

Milan cruised to their first three points of the season on Monday night, and it didn't take long for new signing Romelu Lukaku to find the net on his Serie A debut.

The Belgian pounced on a rebound in the 60th minute to make it 3-0.

Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte clearly has faith in the former Manchester United forward. He praised his efforts after the full-time whistle.

"Lukaku stepped into the Inter world in the best possible way, with great humility," Conte said.

"He is a gentle giant, always has a smile on his face. He's ready to work for the team and at the disposal of his teammates."

The former Chelsea boss also praised his new player before Monday's opener against Leece.

"He [Lukaku] arrived full of enthusiasm, he is a sunny boy who immediately became very fond of the group.

"He is working hard, he arrived after a period in which he was on the sidelines with United and when you are on the sidelines the training is never 100%, so he has great room for improvement.

"I tried it in tandem with Lautaro, Politano and Esposito, I'm happy with the synergy that is emerging among these players ".
