38-Year-Old Man Is Guinness World Record Holder For Longest Game Of Football Manager Played

Michal Leniec, a 38-year-old man from Poland, holds the record for the longest game of Football Manager ever played and it's genuinely one of the most impressive feats of all time.

I've wasted my fair share of weeks, if not months on Football Manager down the years, giving the likes of Cherno Samba, Freddy Adu and Sherman Cardenas their break in the virtual world.

But Lenlec's save with Polish side Lech Poznan blows my previous efforts out of the water.

According to the Guinness World Record's official site, Michał managed his favourite club throughout the entire game but had also taken 35 different international roles.

It also states that his in-game manager was technically 258 years old.

Leniec played a total of 14,381 matches in his save, winning 10,997 of them and losing just 1,720. That's a win percentage of 76%.

In a question and answer session, the 38-year-old went into great detail about his journey and well, it's the most beautiful story I've ever read.

"I begun the game a few days after SI released FM2016, the middle of November 2015. So I spent over two years playing this record-breaking game." Leniec told the Guinness World Record website.

"My goal is to train young players and introduce them to first team, almost the same as the real Lech Poznan.

"My best moment in the game is definitely when my pupils (current or ex-players, but all from Lech Poznan Academy) were the starting eleven of (World) Team of the Year. Yeah - it's a pretty big achievement!

"I treat this record as a prize for my family, I always had FM running in the background so it was a challenge for my family too."

A true legend of the game.
