Andy Tate Produces Iconic Rant About Manchester United In Live Sky Sports interview
Manchester United fan Andy Tate, the man who brought us lines like "you got the job on a technicality of a legend who recommended you" has openly criticised the club in a recent interview.
The 45-year-old says he doesn't expect United to be in and around the top four this season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after a disappointing transfer window.
"We are very light and slow in midfield." he told Sky Sports. "If you want top four you have to put the ball in the net."
Tate also spoke about the failure to sign Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, who was linked with a move to Old Trafford towards the end of the window.
"If we'd have got the Juventus lad last week then I'd have said yeah, we have a chance at getting into the top four, maybe third." he said.
"But Tottenham have strengthened as well. But it could be relying on the Europa League again this season."
Manchester United have added Daniel James to their roster, a quick winger who could cause defenders real problems in attacking areas, but Tate isn't convinced the club have another strength in depth.
"We are short in midfield," he said. "Will Sanchez fire this season? I hope he does.
"But if you want to get in the top four, you've got to put the ball in the net."
United look short in midfield at present, and if someone falls injured early on in the season, Solskjaer's side will look bare in the middle.
Thoughts on the club's chances in the Premier League this season? Can they reach top four?
