It would appear that being unemployed for the last few months has worked wonders for Steve Bruce, with the former Hull City boss not only reportedly close to becoming the new Aston Villa manager but also looking a lot healthier than when we last saw him on the touchline.
Appearing on 'Goals On Sunday', Bruce looked noticeably slimmer than he did during his final run with Hull where, to be fair, he had more pressing matters to deal with, such as guiding the club back into the Premier League and dealing with the incredibly problematic chairman Assem Allam.

Now, with a few months rest and relaxation behind him and a new job on the horizon, the former Manchester United captain looks in the best shape of his managerial career.

According to several reports, Bruce could be in the Villa dugout as early as their next game, against Wolves, next week

Well done, Steve, although we're not sure if the poisoned chalice of the Villa manager's job is worth giving up unemployment for.
