Zinedine Zidane Kicked In The Mouth By Celta Vigo Player In Freak Accident

Zinedine Zidane suffered an accidental boot to the face during Real Madrid's 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo on Sunday.

In the 61st minute of yesterday's La Liga clash, the Frenchman was barking instructions to his players when Celta defender Joseph Aidoo slipped as he tried to keep the ball from going out of play.

Aidoo completely lost his balance, fell on his back and caught Zidane flush in the mouth with a left boot.

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos ran over to the touchline to take a throw-in as Zidane nursed his sore mouth.

After the full-time whistle, Zidane confirmed he was "fine" after the incident. "Yes, he hit me but anyway, I have to be there [on the touchline]," he told reporters.

Goals from Kroos and Sergio Ramos weren't enough to help Los Blancos extend their lead at the top of La Liga after Fyodor Smolov and Santi Mina found the net for Celta Vigo.

Madrid are still one point ahead of second place Barcelona, who picked up all three points against Getafe on Saturday.
