Manchester United failed to record a single shot on target against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday night as they recorded a forgettable 0-0 draw in the Europa League Group L clash.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer side, who are now ten away games without a win, fielded a number of academy graduates in the starting XI, including Angel Gomes, Mason Greenwood and Brandon Williams.

But ultimately they failed to find a breakthrough against Arne Slot's side, who dominated for large spells of the game.

Alkmaar looked dangerous throughout the tie, testing goalkeeper David de Gea on a number of occasions.

While United, who are currently 10th in the Premier League league, were lucky to leave the AFOS Stadion with a point as they failed to find the target.

On a positive note, Solskjaer's side did defend well and perhaps should have been awarded a penalty late on after Marcus Rashford was hacked down.

But other than that, United fans were far from pleased with their team's performance.
