Brazilian Futsal Player Knocked Out And Rushed To Hospital After Karate Kick To The Head

Brazilian futsal player Fernandinho was rushed to hospital after being knocked out by an extremely dangerous karate-style kick.

The Corinthians star was playing in a National Futsal League game against Intelli de San Carlos when fellow Brazilian player Daniel Batalha produced the shocking red card tackle.

Batalha raised his leg and made contact with Fernandinho's face, knocking him unconscious in the process.

The San Carlos player's head made heavy contact with the floor soon after the kick.

He was soon carried out of the building on a stretcher and was reportedly rushed to hospital for a check-up.

As you can see in the footage below, officials and fellow players can be seen reacting in horror to the challenge, as medics quickly rushed onto the field of play.

According to The Daily Mail, one local paper branded the foul the "worst of the 21st century" as fans fumed on social media.


Despite the injury, Corinthians secured a quarter-final spot by beating their rivals 4-2 in normal time.
