Now that's a crazy stat.

Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster has recorded more shots on target than Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard in the 2019/20 Premier League season thus far.

The 36-year-old shot stopper was inches away from snatching a dramatic equaliser against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon when Gerard Deulofeu whipped in a delightful ball into the box.

Foster got himself in the penalty area and powered a header towards goal in injury time, but a sensational diving save from fellow goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga denied him a first goal of the campaign.

Foster was denied a last minute equaliser and Watford remained at the bottom of the Premier League ladder as Frank Lampard's men eventually walked away from Vicarage Road with all three points.

Goals from Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic sealed the deserved win but one of the biggest shocks involved the former Manchester United goalkeeper - and it emerged after the full-time whistle.

A remarkable stat claims the goalkeeper has recorded more shots on target in the Premier League than a certain Jesse Lingard.

The 26-year-old has only managed four shots in the league this season and none of those have found the target, according to GiveMeSport.

Lingard has struggled to stake a claim in the starting XI this season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, instead being used as an impact sub, thus limiting his playing time on the pitch.

He has yet to score in the league in eight appearances so far.

Lingard made 36 appearances across all competitions last season and only managed to score five times and registered four assists.

Back in September, it was reported that United are continuing to push through new deals for their players and are focused on tying down Mason Greenwood, Paul Pogba and Lingard to new contracts, according to the Evening Standard,

Greenwood has already been given a new four year deal but does the 26-year-old midfielder deserve one?
