Sunderland forward Fabio Borini has been given a new role in the first team set-up in recent weeks but to compare yourself with Bayern Munich player Thomas Muller is definitely bold.

Borini, who is often used as a striker, has changed positions in recent weeks with manager Sam Allardyce giving Borini the task of controlling wider channels, helping his team more defensively as well as attacking.

Now, the Italian has drawn comparisons with German international Thomas Muller from who else but, Fabio Borini.

To be fair, Allardyce's new system has given Sunderland a huge chance in avoiding relegation, with Borini a key part in their battle to stay in the Premier League.

Borini say's he feels 'a bit like Thomas Muller.'

'I call my role a blind job because people don't notice the work you're doing,' Borini told The Guardian.

'I feel a bit like Thomas Muller at Bayern Munich. They pick him because he does a lot of blind jobs which makes things easier for everyone else.'

Thomas Muller has scored 35 goals in 50 games for Bayern Munich. while Fabio Borini has netted just 4 goals in 24 appearances for Sunderland.

Interesting.
