Juventus midfielder Emre Can is "angry" and "shocked" after the club excluded him from their 23-man Champions League group stage squad.

The 25-year-old expressed his displeasure at the recent news while on international duty, accusing the Italian club of "broken promises" after PSG "came in" with a bid.

In an interview with German publication Bild, the German international says he stayed with Juventus under the condition that he'd get Champions League football.

"I'm extremely shocked." he said. "Our conversation only lasted a minute and I wasn't given a reason. It makes me angry and upset.

"I'll draw my own conclusions and talk to the club after I return [from international duty].

"I was told and promised something else by the club last week. PSG came in for me, but I decided to stay with Juve.

"The condition was that I'd be in the Champions League."

Can allowed his contract to run down at Liverpool before joining the Serie A champions last summer.

It was reported that he wanted to become the highest-paid player at Anfield and demanded more than £200,000-a-week to stay put, which didn't go down well with fans.

And now, despite being a key part of Massimo Allegri's plans when he first arrived, it looks increasingly likely that the midfielder will leave after these revelations.

Here's how fans reacted to the news on social media.
