Borussia Dortmund's Half-Time Gif Versus Schalke Massively Backfires

Borussia Dortmund's half-time GIF came back to haunt them following Schalke's incredible fight back at Westfalenstadion.

The Ruhr derby was eventful to say the least. The hosts raced to a four-goal first-half lead. Scoring four goals in the space of 13 minutes. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened proceedings before Benjamin Stambouli netted in his own net.

Mario Gotze made it three with Raphael Guerreiro adding a brilliant fourth five minutes later.

Borussia Dortmund were flying. And their social media team felt it was the right time to upload a hilarious GIF on their Twitter account.

It seemed like a good idea then. But after the full-time whistle, the visitors had the perfect response.

Guido Burgstaller pulled one back on the hour mark. Amine Harit continued to reduced the deficit. Daniel Caligiuri then made it 4-3.

And deep into stoppage time, Naldo completed the amazing comeback.

Schalke marked the unbelievable result by taking to social media to mock their rivals with a similar sipping-of-the-tea GIF.

Goes without saying, the GIF exchange got social media talking.

What a game.
