Dortmund, who are set to face Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup on Tuesday, were very impressive under their new manager Marco Rose as the fans also saw goals from club legend Marco Reus, Thorgan Hazard and Giovanni Reyna.
However, Haaland was undoubtedly the star of show after being linked with a move away from Dortmund throughout the summer with clubs such as Chelsea showing great interest.
After the Eintracht Frankfurt match, the Dortmund manager singled out Haalands's performance: "Erling scored two goals today and set up two goals as well. Then you are allowed to celebrate on your own in front of the South Stand."
Rose was also asked about his new role after leaving Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer and he said: "If you are talking about my debut, then of course it was very successful.

"But it's more about the fact that we wanted to start the season well and we managed to do that. Things went very well for us today. In the end, it only succeeds through team-work, everyone knows that."
In anticipation of Tuesday's huge clash against their arch rivals Bayern Munich, he added: "We can test ourselves against the strongest team in Germany. That's when a trophy is on the line. We want to prepare well for that."
