Manchester United Fans Are Fuming That They Only Had One Shot On Target

Anthony Martial's penalty, after Ederson took out Romelu Lukaku, was the only shot that Jose Mourinho's side managed to register.

Manchester United were well beaten by fierce rivals Manchester City on Sunday afternoon and fans weren't happy that their side only managed one shot on target, the penalty that have them their consolation goal.

There was a time when Manchester United were the best attacking football team in the land, marauding forward with an almost gay abandon. Okay maybe not quite that attacking but they've certainly gone away from that.

It's fair to say that sometimes people go a bit overboard on criticism of how Jose Mourinho sets his teams out to play but against Manchester City on Sunday they were hardly set out to attack.

A big part of the problem for Mourinho's side was that, without an injured Paul Pogba, he was left with a midfield full of industry but with little to no creativity.

Just to prove that there was little of the flair on show from their rivals United only carved out one shot on target in the whole game and that was the penalty Anthony Martial scored from.

It's safe to say fans weren't too impressed:

City's conversion rate was nearly as impressive as United's 100% as they had just five shots on target for their three goals but did register 17 in all to United's six.

They often say that you can prove anything with stats, on Sunday they proved that United just weren't very good.
