Jamie Carragher Worries Harry Kane Will 'Ruin His Name' After Not Turning Up For Training

Jamie Carragher has criticised Harry Kane for his failure to turn up for pre season training at Tottenham Hotspur, warning it could lead to him ruining his name.

Kane caused a huge storm when he wasn't at training on Monday, which was due to be his first day back after a break following Euro 2020.

It comes in the wake of the Spurs striker wanting a move from the club, with Manchester City reportedly favourites to sign the 28-year-old, if he does leave

According to reports, Kane's failure to turn up for training was due to him believing he has a 'gentleman's agreement' that he can leave the club this summer, and that it hasn't been upheld.

Rio Ferdinand took to Twitter in support of the England forward, saying, "I'm not saying that Harry Kane and his tactics to leave are wrong (if we are to believe what's being said). Harry wants trophies and he ain't getting any younger."

However, former Liverpool centre back Carragher wasn't on board with the England captain's tactics, claiming they could ruin his reputation

The pair weren't the only former players to have an opinion on Kane's actions, former Spurs midfielder Jamie O'Hara said it had obviously got to the point where the Premier League Golden Boot winner had had enough.

"I wouldn't expect it from someone like Harry Kane, the utmost professional person who always gives 100 percent for the football club," he told talkSPORT.

"He's one of the best strikers in the world and he probably doesn't feel Tottenham is the place where he's going to push on and win trophies.

"He's 28 now, not 23. This is the time where you make that big move, get the big contracts and you guarantee yourself some trophies.

"It's probably got to the point where he's thinking 'enough is enough.'"

As well as Kane, City have also been linked with a move to Jack Grealish, with Pep Guardiola's side said to have offered £100 million for the Aston Villa captain.

The prospect of both England stars ending up at the Etihad would be a scary prospect for everyone.
