Juan Mata's recent blog post has caused confusion and panic aplenty among Manchester United fans.

The Manchester United No.8 writes a weekly blog and at the bottom in this week's edition, praised Angel Gomes for being part of the England Under 17 side that completed a wonderful few months for England youth sides by winning the World Cup following a thrilling 5-2 win over Spain.

The 16-year old, who has captained the Under 17's on a number of occasions, is incredibly highly rated and became United's youngest ever Premier League player on the final day of the 2016/17 season when he replaced Wayne Rooney.

But the wording of Mata's congratulatory message to him, in which he referred to him as a "former teammate", has alarmed plenty of United supporters on social media.

He wrote the following:

"PS: I take this opportunity to congratulate England for winning the Under-17 World Cup in India. In particular to my former team-mate Angel Gomes, who made his debut against Crystal Palace in the final game of the last Premier League season. He's part of a great generation of players that can bring more success in the future. Congratulations also to Spain. Santi Denia's team did an excellent job in this World Cup, displaying the main features of the Spanish football with which I feel so identified. There's a fantastic group of footballers in the making."

And here's how United fans have reacted:

Fans can be forgiven for thinking their top young prodigy on the move, especially with Barcelona sniffing around, but it turns out that it was merely a translation error in the piece and there's no cause for concern.

Panic over, United fans...
