West Ham had a shocker on Friday night. And following the Premier League defeat, Jamie Carragher ripped into a West Ham star, and their fans completely agreed.

The Hammers entertained Brighton, last night. And the visitors secured all three points after beating the hosts 3-0. Glenn Murray (x2) and a fine strike from Jose Izquierdo ensured the Seagulls' victory.

Brighton move into the top half of the table ahead of Saturday's round of league games. While West Ham slump to 17th, one place above the relegation zone. Though if results don't go their way, they could fall into the bottom three by the end of the weekend.

The Sky Sports televised game was then given the Carragher and Neville treatment. They dissected the clash with the pair praising Chris Hughton's tactics.

But while his shrewd plan resulted in three crucial points, West Ham were awful with Carragher pin-pointing a specific player in the shape of Marko Arnautovic.

"I was very critical of Arnautovic in that game," the former Liverpool defender said via Balls.

The Austrian was snapped up by Slaven Bilic for a reported £20 million from Stoke City, and Carragher believes he hasn't helped the manager who signed him.

"Huge money signing, OK you can go to a new club, it's difficult to settle, show your true form, he's been sent off, few ups and downs to start with but, his performance wasn't one of someone who was desperate to show everyone, or help the manager who has brought him in.

"Walking about in the game, it was beyond belief watching him certainly in the first half and I was trying to hold my tongue actually because I felt like someone might say I was bullying him.

"So poor, and just heaps so much pressure now on that manager," Carragher added.

Neville also weighed in: "He's Ronaldo in his own mind, that guy. That's his problem, he thinks he's better than he is."

Brutal assessment. Though their sentiment was echoed by the West Ham faithfuls.

Here's how they reacted:
