Isco has told AS to 'stop spreading shit' after seeing their story about him refusing to warm up in today's El Clasico.

The Real Madrid midfielder didn't get off the bench in his side's 3-0 defeat to Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu this afternoon, with Zinedine Zidane being forced in to other substitutions in the second half.

His first came after Dani Carvajal's sending off, with Nacho Fernandez sent on, before Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio were thrown on in an effort to come back from two goals down.

So Isco had to settle for a watching brief - leading to AS' story that he'd refused to continue warming up as a result of not getting on.

But the Spaniard has refuted that in strong words, saying: "Stop spreading shit.. my other two teammates were already going to be subbed on."

Isco clearly wasn't happy with the Spanish newspaper. Images: Twitter.

In their version of events AS wrote that Isco had decided to stop warming up before Zinedine Zidane had decided to bring Asensio and Bale on ahead of him saying, "It was then, with two changes still to be done, when Isco decided to stop warming up with Pintus and go to the bench , where Bale and Asensio were still waiting to get out, according to Javi Herráez in the Carousel broadcast.

"The controversy may arise because the playmaker alone took the decision and because Zidane still had the possibility to change plans and take the Malaga, who was already sitting on the bench. Finally they left Bale and Asensio. Isco did not play for a minute."

Isco has started 12 games this season for his team, scoring four goals and laying on three for his teammates, Asensio has been part of as many goals in fewer games but seeing Bale come on ahead of Isco may have surprised some considering the Welshman's lack of game time this season.
