Gerard Pique went on a six-point rant against the press this afternoon before promising to start his own media for players.

The Barcelona defender wasn't happy after a story appeared in the Mirror which said he had been stopped and fined by police this week for speeding.

After noticing the story, Pique took to Twitter to clarify his position on it, calling the story lies and going on to mention his objective.

His first tweet read: "A paparazzi makes a photo of me talking to the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police)."

His second read: "The paparazzi invents that I was driving at 190 km/h and that the Mossos took six points off of my driving license to be able to sell the photos for 1,500 euros. All lies."

And his third: "An English media buys the photos regardless of the veracity of the story."

His fourth said: "The majority of the media in this country spread the news without corroborating the information. All to get more clicks."

His fifth read: "The damage is already done and nobody will do anything to change it."

And Pique's final tweet was the promise to start a new media for the players: "My objective in the coming months will be the creation of a media different, truthful, authentic and for the players. I'm fed up."

We're looking forward to seeing what Pique produces.
