Fans on social media spotted what Jason Puncheon did for Crystal Palace's penalty in the 0-0 draw with Manchester City.

The Eagles were awarded a spot-kick in the last minute of the game at Selhurst Park, with referee John Moss deeming Wilfried Zaha to have been fouled by Raheem Sterling inside the area.

Roy Hodgson's side had a golden opportunity to become the first side to beat City in the league this season, but regular penalty taker Luka Milivojevic saw his soft effort saved by City goalkeeper Ederson.

Jason Puncheon, on as a substitute, couldn't even watch as the Serbian made his run-up, such was his nerves. Instead of getting ready to pounce for a rebound, he looked the other way.

Moments later, after Ederson's heroics, City looked to break on the counter with Kevin De Bruyne. Puncheon, attempting to thwart the City talisman, lunged in with a shocker of a challenge that warranted a red card. Instead, he got a yellow.

Both players were forced off on stretchers, fans were not happy with the horror tackle from the Crystal Palace man - especially given that City seem to have been on the receiving end of a few in recent times:

The initial update on De Bruyne, probably the Premier League Player of the Season so far, is that it doesn't look as bad as it first did - though Gabriel Jesus is facing a spell on the sidelines.
