Just 30 minutes after the badge was released, a petition emerged online...

At the time of writing, over 13,500 people have signed a petition to change Leeds' new club crest after its design received a barrage of negative reviews on social media.

The petition on change.org reads: "On January 24th 2018 Leeds United announced a new crest. The design is appalling. 10,000 people were consulted. This petition is to STOP the club from using the design.

It makes a mockery of Leeds United and the clubs history. It is alienating the fans. It is has to go.
"

In an interview with Sky Sports, managing director Angus Kinnear did state that the crest has received a 'really positive' reaction. We don't know about that, Angus:

"The initial reaction has been really positive, but we're very conscious that when you make such a significant change it's going to divide elements of the fan base. What we have found is that every fan that we've spoken to they buy into and believe the sentiment behind it, even if they have differing opinions on the way it has been executed." Kinnear said.

Here are a selection of football badges in their rival colours. This is strange...

"Over time I think they'll come to love it and this is a badge we want to be wearing on our chest in the Premier League and I think then it'll have 100 per cent support,"

After six months of research and thousands being consulted, Leeds United released the new design on Wednesday afternoon and well, it didn't go down great to say the least.

Many compared the badge to a Pro Evolution design. Even the official Pro Evo Twitter account commented on the crest.
