Jose Mourinho was always likely to make some for Manchester United's FA Cup Third Round match against Reading. However one player the fans were probably hoping to see was left on the bench.

Many United fans were a little upset at the beginning of the season when Mourinho revealed that Bastian Schweinsteiger had no place in his plans for the season.

The German looked destined for a season relaxing until a team in the MLS or China came along with a big offer.

However he was eventually brought back into the fold by the former Chelsea manager and he made an appearance as a sub in the EFL Cup against West Ham.

So today United fans were obviously hopeful that they'd get to see the former Bayern Munich legend play but instead Mourinho has picked Marouane Fellaini, much to the annoyance of United fans:
