Arsenal edged out West Bromwich Albion by two goals to nil in Monday night's game at the Emirates, with club-record signing Alexandre Lacazette maintaining his sublime goalscoring record on home soil by notching a further two strikes at Arsenal's stomping ground.

But the main talking point, particularly on social media, was the amount of empty seats visible for a Premier League fixture at the Emirates.

Arsenal recently set a record for the lowest amount of fans to have attended a game when 44,064 tickets were solid for the Carabao Cup win over Doncaster Rovers.

And though you can probably let that one slide given that they were playing against a League One side, no-one was letting Arsenal fans off the hook tonight and there were a flurry of reactions to the empties at the Emirates. Die-hard Gooner Piers Morgan was one of many to weigh in:
