Philippe Coutinho returned to Anfield for the first time since leaving Liverpool for Barcelona in January as Brazil warmed up for the World Cup with a game against Croatia and he received a mixed reaction.

If Liverpool fans and players were gutted that they didn't win the Champions League final then Philippe Coutinho might have been even more gutted, he'd have won a medal for barely doing anything. That might be a bit of a lie but come on.

The Barcelona midfielder looked likely to depart Anfield last summer when it was obvious that Barcelona wanted to sign him and that he wanted to go.

Somehow Jurgen Klopp managed to hold on to him till January but then he moved over to La Liga.

On Sunday he returned to Merseyside for the first time as Brazil continued their preparation for the World Cup against Croatia and why wouldn't it be at Anfield.

The former Inter Milan player was met with a mixed reception of boos and cheers by the mainly neutral crowd:

Should Coutinho have been booked?
