What...just...happened?

What the fucking hell is happening in the Premier League?

The opening game of the season saw Arsenal produce a chaotic 4-3 victory over Leicester City at the Emirates stadium before Watford and Liverpool played out an equally beserk 3-3 draw at Vicarage Road at lunchtime, today.

Not to be outdone by either of their potential title rivals, defending champions Chelsea decided it would be a laugh to have captain Gary Cahill sent off after 14 minutes before falling 3-0 behind to Burnley by the time the half-time whistle blew.

Alvaro Morata, a £58 million arrival from Real Madrid this summer may have been left on the bench for today's game, but when the Spaniard was introduced in the second half, he immediately made an impact, dragging Chelsea back into the game with a debut goal before seeing another disallowed for offside.

However, with the home side chasing the game, Cesc Fabregas joined Cahill for an early bath when he received a second yellow card in the 81st minute.

It won't surprise you to discover that Twitter promptly shat itself throughout the 90 minutes.

With Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester United still to play this weekend, we're in danger of the 2017/18 Premier League season peaking within the opening weekend.
