Whenever a player is in the news, it's almost inevitable that his old Tweets will start doing the rounds and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is the latest footballer to have some of his posts dug up.

The 24-year old is set to join Chelsea, with reports saying that the Premier League winners have agreed a fee of £35 million with Arsenal to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Sky Sports tweeted the news on their official account, while reporter Kaveh Solhekol also weighed in.

Like his soon-to-be ex teammates Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, Chamberlain has been stalling on a new deal and turned down a whopping £180,000-a-week new deal at the Emirates last week.

Liverpool were seriously interested in bringing him to Anfield, but it's Chelsea who have stolen a march and are now on the verge of signing him.

Chamberlain, who started Arsenal's dismal 4-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield yesterday, joined up with the England national team today ahead of World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovakia, and it's noted by Sky Sports that the majority of his Chelsea medical tests could take place at the St George's Park facility so that the deal is wrapped up quickly.

And with 'Ox' on his way to Stamford Bridge, freelance journalist Dan Levene has picked up on a few Chelsea-related Tweets the former Southampton youth product has served up over the years - the first being his correct prediction that the 2012 Champions League final against Bayern Munich would be "Chelsea's day".

The second one dug up was Chamberlain expressing his delight at Fernando Torres scoring that dramatic goal against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final just under a month prior to the incredible win at the Allianz Arena.

And the final one is the best of them all, as the England international was clearly absolutely loving Didier Drogba's late bullet header to take the memorable final in Munich to extra time, and subsequently penalties, where the Ivorian would score the decisive spot-kick.

Chelsea fans, are you in favour of the signing of Chamberlain or are there better options out there?
