Battling against relegation at the tail end of the season is never easy, and it's even more difficult when referees make shocking decisions like the one that has affected Hull City, today.
With the Tigers' match against Watford at the KC Stadium finely poised at 0-0 in the first half, midfielder Oumar Niasse received his marching orders and no one can quite understand why.
In the 25th minute, the Senegalese midfielder accidentally fouled Watford forward M'Baye Niang and was probably expecting at worst a yellow card, but perhaps most likely a word from the referee.

The Everton loanee could scarcely believe his eyes when the referee Bobby Madley produced the red card.

We could watch this foul a hundred times and still come no closer to understanding what Madley was thinking when he awarded Niasse the red card.

Thankfully for Hull, second half goals from Lazar Markovic and Sam Clucas has given the home side a 2-0 lead against the Hornets, so at least the wrongful sending off of Niasse hasn't affected them too much.
Expect Hull to appeal to the FA to have the 27-year-old's suspension for his dismissal overturned. On the evidence of the above video, even the FA can't believe that challenge was worthy of a red card.
