Get your singing voices ready because a week from now it'll be time to start singing the Champions League anthem because the competition is coming back and there's some big fixtures in round one.

The Nations League has been a good bit of fun the last few days and made the international break more bearable than it usually is but it hasn't completely removed the feeling that we're missing out on something better.

Whilst England vs Spain was fine and we also got some other excellent and competitive games the Three Lions face Switzerland tonight, in a friendly, and then we've got to wait till Spurs vs Liverpool on Saturday for anything we care about.

That won't be the case next week though because not only do we have the normal Saturday and Sunday games but Monday Night Football returns with Southampton vs Brighton and continues soon after too.

On Tuesday the best time of year begins as the Champions League group stages start up, meaning we're close to leaves falling off trees, thicker coats and darkness setting in when we've finished work.

And UEFA are treating us to some big fixtures on week one:

Tuesday 18th September:

Club Brugge vs Borussia Dortmund - 8pm kick off
Monaco vs Atletico Madrid - 8pm

Inter vs Spurs - 5.55pm

There's some really big fixtures in there with Monaco vs Atleti, Inter vs Spurs and Liverpool vs PSG jumping out on Tuesday and Benfica vs Bayern, Real vs Roma and Valencia vs Juve the highlights on Wednesday.

It's worth noting as well the new kick off times. Rather than all kicks offs being 7.45pm, other than the odd one in Russia, the kicks off are now 5.55pm and 8pm.

Can't wait to have it back. Altogether now...THE CHAMPIIIIIIIIIIONS LEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGUE!
