Only One Player Remains From Manchester City Side That Played Celtic In 2009

Celtic and Manchester City meet tonight in the UEFA Champions League at Parkhead in what will be the first competitive meeting between the two sides. There's sure to be an incredible atmosphere at Celtic Park.

However, Celtic and Manchester have locked horns before, albeit in a friendly in 2009. The game took place at the Etihad Stadium (then known as the City of Manchester Stadium) on 8th August, with the home side winning 2-1 courtesy of former Celtic man Craig Bellamy, who scored the winner.

Anyway, things have changed significantly for both sides since then and so it's no surprise to that the teams that will line up tonight will be much-changed from those who played in the friendly seven years ago.

However it's still pretty remarkable that just ONE player from the Manchester City squad that day remains with the club - that man being the long-serving Pablo Zabaleta.

Perhaps even more interesting is that every Celtic player in the squad that day has now left the club.

One man who did play in the game and looks set to be involved again tonight is Kolo Toure, who played for City at the time and now plies his trade with the Scottish Champions.

Here are the teams in full:

Manchester City: Given, Zabaleta, Dunne (c), Toure (Ben-Haim 18), Bridge, De Jong (Adebayor 46), Barry, Ireland, Wright-Phillips (Weiss 72), Robinho (Petrov 72), Bellamy (Tevez 65).

Unused subs: Taylor, Richards, Garrido, Etuhu, Vidal, McGivern.

Celtic: Zaluska, Naylor (Fox 77), Caddis (Hinkel 68), O'Dea, McCourt, Donati, Flood (McGinn 76), Crosas (McGeady 68), Killen (McDonald 60), Mizuno (Fortuna 60), Samaras (Conroy 76).

Unused subs: Brouc, N'Guemo, Ferry.
