Liverpool Players Will Listen To An Inspirational Song Before The Champions League Final

The Reds will go onto the pitch in Kyiv with some divine words in their heads.

What do Liverpool need to win the Champions League final against Real Madrid on Saturday night? Divine inspiration? Mo Salah to play like a deity? Jurgen Klopp to rally the troops? Or just one of the most played songs of 2018?

There's not much in it but when it comes to the betting in tonight's Champions League final most people have Real Madrid as the slight favourites, and that's not exactly a surprise.

Los Blancos have won the competition 12 times, more than anyone else, and are trying to become the first side to win it three times in a row since it became the Champions League and first since Bayern Munich won the European cup between 1974 and 1976.

Zinedine Zidane's side might not have had the domestic season they were hoping for or even started the Champions League campaign as they would have been expected but having seen to Juventus and Bayern Munich in recent rounds it would take a brave man to back against them.

So Jurgen Klopp's side will need whatever slight advantage they can get from anywhere. Well what about the music that will be playing before they go out to the pitch? According to Simon Mignolet, speaking to the Liverpool Echo, it'll be Drake's God's Plan because of Jordan Henderson:

"Hendo is in charge of the music.

"The moment we arrive in the dressing room after getting off the coach the physios put the playlist on. I don't get involved but it's a real mix. Alberto (Moreno) has his Spanish songs and Roberto (Firmino) has a couple in Portuguese.

"We have a certain playlist for just before a game. It's always the same sequence. The last song that gets played before we step out on to the pitch is 'God's Plan. Then it's down to business."

Liverpool's ace and the man who most of their hopes will rely on, Mo Salah, will be hoping that his teammates take heed from Drake's popular song and specifically the line, "God's plan, God's plan. I can't do this on my own, ay, no, ay."

Salah was a snip at around £35 million last summer and his 10 goals in this season's competition has helped lead the Reds to an unlikely final whilst his goals in the Premier League propelled them into the top four.

There's likely to be a lot of goals tonight in the final, or at least we hope that's god's plan...
