Kylian Mbappe Set To Change Number For PSG For Next Season

The France forward has gone to another level because of the World Cup and his importance to PSG is being mirrored by his new number.

PSG should give Kylian Mbappe whatever he wants in order to keep him. The France forward could be the very best in the world for over a decade and everyone is going to want him. PSG have started by giving him an important new squad number.

If Kylian Mbappe wants to sleep inside PSG's Parc des Princes and use the stadium as his personal home then I'm pretty certain that the Ligue 1 champions should do it.

Mbappe moved to the French capital last summer on a season long loan deal with an obligation to buy for a world record transfer fee for a teenager €145 million plus €35 million in add-ons. The loan deal was merely in order to get round FFP for PSG.

Of course when they signed him the 19 year old was already much sought after and it even seemed that he would move to Real Madrid last summer before his eventual transfer.

But the past year has made him even more of a hot commodity and proved that he is one of the best in the world, especially after a World Cup in which he ripped both Argentina and Croatia apart in the knockout stages.

To prove his importance to the side PSG look set to make Mbappe their number seven, changing from the 29 he wore last season:

Mbappe wore 10 throughout the World Cup but at his club side that shirt already belongs to Neymar so he couldn't have that shirt.

Instead he's getting the number seven shirt which Cristiano Ronaldo has famously worn for Manchester United and Real Madrid for much of his career.

The France forward is well known to cite the new Juventus forward as one of his idols so it's no surprise to see him wearing the number seven.

Both Mbappe and Neymar have been linked with moves to Real this summer, especially with Ronaldo now having left, and PSG would be mad to let the younger of the two men go.
