Paul Pogba Reveals The Best Finisher He Has Ever Played Alongside

Paul Pogba Reveals The Best Finisher He Has Ever Played Alongside

The France and Manchester United midfielder has been speaking after United continued their strong start to the season.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has given teammate Mason Greenwood a huge compliment, naming him as the most lethal finisher he has played with during his career to date.

After the 19-year-old striker had scored the match winner at Molyneux, Pogba heaped praise on the teen sensation during an interview with Stadium Astro, saying that he hopes Greenwood's quality can help the team towards winning the league.

The calibre of striker's that the World Cup winning midfielder has graced the pitch alongside is royal. Their is a possibility he is purposely naming Greenwood to give him confidence but these are not the type of plaudits you would expect Pogba to dish out without meaning.

"Mason I think he’s more left foot, he dribbles more with his left but to shoot he can shoot with both, his finishing is unreal. I think he’s the best finisher that I’ve seen, that I’ve trained with so far. He’s unbelievable, I wish he can score more goals and improve and help us to win titles. He’s very young and very talented so we want to push him to become better and better.”

Indeed, Greenwood has heard United legends such as Rio Ferdinand wax lyrical over him in recent weeks after the player's performance against Leeds United. Supporters will be looking at the arrival of Ronaldo as a big influence on Greenwood's development. The Portuguese superstar will no doubt raise the bar higher in training and could take the Bradford born striker under his wing, with similarities already on show. Ronaldo originally joined United as a teenager so has all the experience required.

Back to the accolade and as we look at some of Pogba's teammates you can get a sense of what a statement it is. The 28-year-old will have trained alongside Wayne Rooney during his time around the first team when he first broke through at the club. At Juventus, were he joined on a free transfer and stayed for four years, he won Serie A titles with Carlos Tevez and Alvaro Morata leading the attack. For France he has played in a team with Antoine Griezzman and also shared the pitch with both Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Edinson Cavani United. Greenwood, who has scored in United's first three fixtures of the Premier League eclipses all of them in Pogba's opinion, and he is just getting started.
