Zidane and Madrid's last defeat in La Liga came against rivals Atletico Madrid back in February and Los Blancos have been on a roll since then, winning all twelve league games before the 2015/16 season ended and then starting this season with three wins out of three.

In Guardiola's third season at Barcelona, he won 16 games on the bounce before the run ended with a draw against Real Mallorca at home. Zidane can reach the same feat in a shorter period of time having only been Madrid manager since January.

Despite key duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale ruled out for the Espanyol game. Step forward Karim Benzema and James Rodriguez. A goal-a-piece ensured the three-points sending Real three points clear at the top of league.

Zidane and Co. will seek to extend their winning run to 17 when they welcome Villarreal to the Bernabeu on Wednesday evening.
