Watch: You May Have Missed The Greatest Bit Of Time-Wasting In Football

This is a whole new level completely...

Time-wasting is one of the most infuriating things in football. You love it when your goalkeeper is able to buy you a bit of precious time to see you through but when it's the other way round and against your side, it really gets your blood boiling.

A lot of goalkeepers use the tactic fairly regularly so it doesn't come as too much of a surprise when the opposition's No.1 changes where he places the ball for his goal kick, clicks his boots against the post and then takes an absolute age to hoof the ball up the pitch.

But we can confidently say that no time-wasting antics will trump that of Romanian Mihai Minca.

Minca plays for Voluntari and was between the sticks for the relegation play-off against Concordia over the weekend. His side were leading 2-1 in the 75th minute and Minca thought he'd start his time-wasting nice and early.

He places the ball and keeps walking for what feels like forever. You think he's going for an early bath as he briefly takes the slightest step through the door of the tunnel before getting a move on and eventually taking his goal-kick.

It's entirely unnecessary but yet the most beautiful bit of gamesmanship at the same time.

Unfortunately for Minca, his time-wasting backfired in the end as the Concordia scored an 88th minute equaliser to relegate Voluntari to the second tier.

In other recent crazy goalkeeping news, Atlético Paranaense goalkeeper Santos became a viral sensation a fortnight ago for going on his phone DURING the game.

The 28-year old was in between the sticks for the Brazilian Serie A game against Atletico Mineiro, a game which his side lost 2-1.

We were all thinking he was playing a bit of Candy Crush or checking his Tinder, but it appears as though he was in fact raising awareness for an Uber campaign aimed at raising awareness for people who go on their mobile while driving, as part of a campaign called 'Yellow May'.
