Barcelona legend Xavi believes that Jack Wilshere would be the perfect fit for Steven Gerrard's Rangers and insisted he would become the "best player in Scotland."
Wilshere, 28, is on the hunt for a new club after his contract with West Ham was terminated this month.
The former Arsenal star only managed 19 appearances in two years for the Hammers, with injuries once again stagnating his career.

Xavi, who is the manager of Qatari side Al Sadd, played against Wilshere nine years ago when Barcelona clashed with Arsenal in the Champions League.
The 40-year-old Spaniard said that he has a "lot of respect" for Wilshere and suggested that Liverpool icon Gerrard would be a "big fan of his for sure."

Xavi told The Daily Record: "I have had a lot of respect for Jack, for many years.
"He played an incredible game against Barcelona [in 2011] and after that I predicted he would go on to be one of the best midfield players in the world and the future of English football.
"That is a prediction that I am sure would have come true if it were not for some horrible injuries.
"Rangers could be a very good fit for him. The pace in Scotland is not as fast as England and it would give him more time on the ball. That is where he excels, his vision and passing is incredible.

"They are a big club with a young coach who knows what it takes to win at the very highest level.
"Gerrard will be a big fan of his for sure. They share a lot of similar qualities.

"It would be a risk because of his injuries but if Rangers could manage to keep him fit and without injury, he would be the best player in Scotland."
Wilshere played against Gerrard when the Rangers boss was at Liverpool and also alongside him for England.
