Xavi has named the superstar forwards who he would sign if he was Barcelona boss and revealed that he wants to manage the team.

The club legend left Barcelona in 2015 after an illustrious spell as a player, but he's now eyeing a managerial position.

He's currently in charge of Qatari side Al Sadd and was reportedly offered the Barcelona manager's job in January.

Xavi turned down the chance to head back to Spain. However, he now feels the time is right to "return" to Catalunya.

"I am clear that I want to return to Barcelona, it gives me a lot of excitement," he explained. "Now that I have seen myself coaching I think I can bring things to the players.

"But I made it clear to them that I saw myself in a project that started from zero and in which the decision-making was mine.

"I would like to work with people I trust, with very valid people there is mutual loyalty.

"There can't be anyone toxic around the dressing room."

Xavi continued by revealing the players who he would sign if he was Barcelona manager.

"I would sign wingers, like Neymar - I don't know if he would fit in due to the social issue, but football-wise I have no doubts it would be a spectacular signing.

"They just need wingers like Bayern [Munich] They don't need many new players: maybe Jadon Sancho, Serge Gnabry."

Neymar has been the subject of intense transfer speculation with reports suggesting a sensational return is on the cards.

Borussia Dortmund's English starlet Sancho has also attracted interest from Europe's elite clubs with the 20-year-old's future uncertain.

Gnabry, meanwhile, is doing the rounds in the transfer rumour mill, too, following a prolific season for Bayern Munich.
