Xabi Alonso will become the new head coach of Borussia Monchengladbach, according to stunning reports.
German outlet Bild say Alonso, 39, is expected to replace Marco Rose at the end of the season.
Rose, of course, has agreed to join Borussia Dortmund next season.
Alonso, meanwhile, is currently at Real Sociedad - where he is the manager of the B team - but his contract expires this summer.

An agreement has been reached for the former Liverpool and Real Madrid man to join Gladbach. He's set to assume his role in June.
Alonso's other previous coaching experience comes in the shape of a stint as Real Madrid U14s coach.
From there, he returned to Real Sociedad where he enjoyed a stint as a player.
The World Cup winner has worked under coaching greats like Rafael Benitez, Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola during his storied career.

Alonso has a wealth of experience having played for some of the biggest teams in world football, winning pretty much every major trophy on offer.
He spent three glorious seasons in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich so he should be familiar with the league.
Gladbach are currently 10th in the table and they are out of the Champions League after losing to Manchester City.
