Wojciech Szczesny Shows Off Injury That Kept Him Out Of Poland Game

Nasty!

It's never nice for a player to get injured during an international tournament perhaps least of all when it's cruelly due to a freak accident when you collide with a teammate. That's exactly what happened to Poland goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and now he's 'showed off' his injury.

The Arsenal keeper, who spent last season on loan at AS Roma in Serie A with Petr Cech signing for the Gunners and becoming the club's first choice goalie, was injured in his country's opening Euro game against Northern Ireland where he picked up a clean sheet.

However Szczesny was replaced by a former Arsenal keeper, Lukasz Fabianski, for Poland's 0-0 draw with Germany yesterday, so far the only 0-0 draw in the competition, after he collided with defender Lukasz Piszczek. The collision caused a very nasty bruise on the Polish number one's thigh, which he showed off on Instagram:

After beating Northern Ireland 1-0 and getting a point against Germany, Adam Nawalka's side go into the final group game against bottom side Ukraine in a very strong position and could still qualify top if they beat their opponents by more goals than Germany beat the Irish.

Szczesny hopes to recover in time for the final group game on Tuesday when both matches kick off at the same time.
