Why Griezmann Keeps Walking Away From Atletico Madrid's Team Photos

Have you noticed Antoine Griezmann walking away from Atletico Madrid's team photos early? Well, reports from Spain suggest they know why.

The French starlet remained in the Spanish capital following a hectic summer transfer window. He was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, but ultimately stayed with Atletico.

Though he's failed to hit the ground running. He's only weighed in with three goals so far this campaign, and are behind Real Madrid and Barcelona in the La Liga.

Not to mention in danger of not qualifying for the knock out stages of the Champions League. The Spanish outfit have yet to win in Europe, even failing to beat European minnows Qarabag.

Griezmann's form has contributed to Atletico's lack of success in Europe.

So, naturally, photos of him walking away from the team squad have been scrutinised. But according to Marca, there is nothing major about the recurring incident.

The Spanish outlet claim: "It is usually so that the Frenchman has a chance to control the ball and score a goal before the match kicks off."

Meanwhile, Diego Simeone is wary of his form, but is adamant that the club must support him during this rough patch.

"He's very confused," the manager said via Marca about Griezmann's recent performances.

The Argentine added: "He is not in his best form, but we must support him because the season is long and we will need him towards the end of the campaign."

Simeone and the Atleti faithfuls will be hoping he rediscovers his blistering form sooner rather than later.

Because the red and white side of Madrid host their cross-town rivals once the Spanish league resumes following the international break.
