The debate has raged throughout Euro 2016 as to who the better player is; Mesut Ozil or Dimitri Payet, and now the stats have been provided to add further fuel to the fire.
Both players set the Premier League alight, last season, which in turn led to intense debate between Arsenal and West Ham fans as to who the better playmaker is. Ozil laid on an incredible 18 assists last term, but Payet wowed English football fans with his penchant for unstoppable free kicks and was rewarded with five honours at the Hammers' end of year award ceremony.
With both men going head-to-head in the second Euro 2016 semi-final in Marseille tonight, when Germany take on France, the lads at TheODDSbible provided us with some handy stats to see who the more effective player has been during the tournament.
As you can see, with less touches of the ball and almost a hundred less passes, Payet has still scored two more goals than Ozil, laid on one more assist, created four more chances and made one more key pass.
Will these stats count for anything at the Stade Velodrome tonight, though?
