When Football Manager Left Players Devastated With Brutal 'April Fool's Day' Prank

"In a display of incredible generosity, the board have decided to award you a sum in the region of £500 million to spend on players and a new stadium."

It's the message every seasoned Football Manager player wants to read.

You smash the spacebar button faster than you've ever hit it before, exit the inbox and head to your scouting network.

"I can finally improve my depleted squad with a few Colombian wonderkids and a striker with 18 composure!" I hear you say. "Next stop, Champions League football..."

But wait. April 1. Sports Interactive wouldn't do such a thing, right?

In a cruel April Fools Day prank, Football Manager decided fool players into thinking they've just won the virtual lottery. Note to self: always make sure you read the fine print.

"Sadly this proved to be an April Fool's wind-up from Sports Interactive." they continued.
