Erling Haaland's first encounter with Sergio Ramos saw the Norwegian man mountain absolutely body the Spaniard.

Haaland was playing for Red Bull Salzburg against Real Madrid in a pre-season friendly in August 2019. Eden Hazard, fresh from a mega move from Chelsea, scored the winner at the Red Salzburg Arena.

But Haaland also made an impact in a different way when he displayed incredible power and strength to knock Ramos off the ball.

The Los Blancos skipper is one of the most physical, all-action defenders around but he was no match for Haaland in their first meeting.

In a clip that has gone viral, Haaland got his body in and sent Ramos tumbling to the floor when the two went shoulder to shoulder.

Haaland's body check created space for his teammate Sekou Koita, who saw a shot blocked from distance.

Just over a month later and Haaland exploded onto the European stage, bagging a stunning hat-trick in a 6-2 win over Genk in his Champions League debut.

That was the moment where Haaland truly arrived and he has never looked back. He scored eight in his first six Champions League appearances and later added a stunning double for Borussia Dortmund against PSG in the round of 16 after making a huge mid-season switch to the Bundesliga outfit.

At Dortmund, Haaland has scored a ridiculous 45 goals in 46 games and has cemented his place as one of the hottest striking properties in world football.

His brace against Bayern Munich on Saturday means he has now scored 100 career goals in 146 games.

A whole host of elite European clubs are queuing up for the former Molde man's signature, including the likes of Barcelona, Real, Manchester City and Manchester United.

And former Liverpool and City midfielder Dietmar Hamann reckons a reunion with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the perfect next step for him to continue his rapid ascension.

"I don't think Haaland is a Manchester City player. I can't see him joining Man City and I'm not sure whether City will be interested in him," Hamann told Stadium Astro.

"Pep [Guardiola] has got rid of some centre-forwards in the past. The way they play, they like to pass the ball around, I'm not sure whether Haaland would suit Man City or fit in there.

"At Manchester United, they have so many quick players and like to counter-attack, I think Haaland will suit United a lot better than City.

"Can United get him in the summer? I think there might be a situation in the summer if Dortmund miss out on the Champions League, where they might have to sell Haaland and [Jadon] Sancho. I think they could both go in the summer."
